MLB: St. Louis 7, Houston 5 (12 inn.)

HOUSTON, July 9 (UPI) -- A two-run pinch-hit double by Aaron Miles in the top of the 12th inning Sunday night gave Sr. Louis a 7-5 win over the Houston Astros.

Scott Rolen hit a three-run homer; Albert Pujols had one run, three hits and two RBI; and David Eckstein had three runs and two hits for the Cardinals (47-39), who closed the first half of the season with a three-game winning streak.

The winner was Braden Looper (4-1). Josh Hancock recorded his first save.

Chris Burke hit a two-run homer and had two hits and three RBI, Craig Biggio hit a sacrifice fly, and Mike Lamb hit an RBI double for the Astros (43-45), who have lost four of their last five games.

The losing pitcher was closer Brad Lidge (0-3).
