Chopra takes charge at Lemont

LEMONT, Ill., July 7 (UPI) -- Daniel Chopra charged in front Friday at the Western Open in Lemont, Ill., with a 5-under 66 in the second round.

Chopra is 10-under 132 after 18 holes, two shots better than Vijay Singh (67).

Joe Ogilvie (69), Stewart Cink (64) and Trevor Immelman (66) are tied for third at 7-under 135.

Six players are 6-under 136, including defending champion Jim Furyk (67).

Davis Love III (70) is among eight players at 5-under 137.

World No. 1 Tiger Woods (67) is tied for 35th place at 3-under 139, and Phil Mickelson (74) is tied for 42nd at 1-under 141.

"It wasn't great," Woods said, "but I'll go do some work on that right now and get a little bit organized for tomorrow."

Among those who missed the cut were Mark O'Meara (144), Brett Quigley (144) and Jeff Sluman (144).
