ANAHEIM, Calif., July 2 (UPI) -- Orlando Cabrera reached base safely for the 59th straight game and stole home as the LA Angels beat the LA Dodgers, 4-0, Sunday afternoon.

Cabrera set a record among active players -- surpassing Barry Bonds, who once reached base safely in 58 straight games.

John Lackey (6-5) held the Dodgers scoreless over 6 2/3 innings, giving up four hits while tying a career high with 10 strikeouts. Reliever Scot Shields was perfect in 1 1/3 innings of relief, and Francisco Rodriguez closed the door on the Dodgers in the ninth, as the Angels won their second straight game, following a three-game losing streak.

Vladimir Guerrero homered and Garret Anderson had two hits and scored a run for the Angels.

Dodgers starter Chad Billingsley (0-2) took the loss, surrendering four runs on four hits over six innings, as the Dodgers lost for the fifth time in six games.

Kenny Lofton, Nomar Garciaparra, J.D. Drew, Ramon Martinez and Cesar Izturis had hits for the Dodgers.
