MLB: LA Dodgers 6, LA Angels 1

ANAHEIM, Calif., July 1 (UPI) -- Andre Ethier had one run, three hits and two RBI Friday night as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Los Angeles Angels, 6-1.

One of Ethier's hits was a two-run homer in the eighth inning.

Jeff Kent and Russell Martin both drove in a run, Nomar Garciaparra had two runs and two hits, and Kenny Lofton had a run and two hits for the Dodgers (41-38), who broke three-game losing streak.

Winner Brad Penny (9-2) gave up one run and seven hits in seven innings with no walks and six strikeouts.

Juan Rivera hit a run-scoring double, Vladimir Guerrero had one run and two hits, and Kendry Morales also had two hits for the Angels (35-44), who have dropped four of their last five games.

In 7 2/3 innings, losing pitcher Bartolo Colon (0-4) yielded six runs and 12 hits with no walks and three strikeouts.
