MLB: Kansas City 8, St. Louis 7 (11 inn.)

ST. LOUIS, July 1 (UPI) -- Mark Teahen capped a five-hit game with a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning Saturday night as Kansas City edged St. Louis, 8-7.

Teahen had two runs and two RBI in the first five-hit game of his career. He had scored the winning run Friday night in Kansas City's 7-5, 10-inning win.

Mark Grudzielanek had two runs, three hits and two RBI; David DeJesus had three runs and four hits; and Doug Mientkiewicz hit an RBI single for the Royals (26-52), who have won their last two games.

The winner was Luke Hudson (1-3).

Jim Edmonds, Scott Rolen, Yadier Molina and Scott Spiezio all hit home runs; Spiezio had two runs, two hits and two RBI; and Albert Pujols had one run, four hits and one RBI for the Cardinals (43-36), who have only one win in their last 11 games.

The losing pitcher was Jason Isringhausen (2-4).
