Curtis maintains his Booz Allen lead

POTOMAC, Md., June 23 (UPI) -- With a 6-under 65 on Friday, Ben Curtis maintained the lead after two rounds of the Booz Allen Golf Classic at Potomac, Md.

Curtis, who birdied the last hole to overtake clubhouse leader Jose Coceres, is 15-under 127 through 36 holes.

Coceres, who shot his second straight 7-under 64, is 14-under 128.

"I didn't feel real comfortable with my swing in the beginning," said Curtis, who won the British Open in 2003.

Jeff Gove (68) is third at 11-under 131, with John Huston (65) and Brett Quigley (63) tied for fourth place at 10-under 132.

J.B. Holmes (66) and Jerry Kelly (65) are 9-under 133.

Among those missing the cut were Olin Browne (142), who grew up in nearby Washington, D.C.; Lee Janzen (143); Brad Faxon (148); and former Ryder Cup captain Tom Kite (149).
