MLB: Toronto 6, Atlanta 5

ATLANTA, June 20 (UPI) -- Alex Rios drove in the winning run in the eighth inning Tuesday to lead the Toronto Blue Jays to a 6-5 victory over the Atlanta Braves.

Reed Johnson was 3-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored and Troy Glaus also homered for Toronto.

Scott Schoeneweis (2-0) picked up the win after pitching a scoreless seventh. B.J. Ryan shut down the Braves for 1 1/3 innings to pick up his 18th save of the season.

The loss went to Tyler Yates (0-1) after the reliever ran into immediate trouble in the eighth and was charged with the run.

Andruw Jones hit a homer for the Braves, who have now lost eight straight. This is Atlanta's first eight-game losing streak since April 24-May 2, 1989.
