MLB: Florida 3, Toronto 1

MIAMI, June 17 (UPI) -- Dan Uggla hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning Friday night as the Florida Marlins beat Toronto, 3-1, for its season-high six straight win.

Miguel Cabrera also homered for the Marlins (27-37), who had only five hits in the game.

Winner Scott Olsen (6-3), who got his fourth straight victory, scattered one run and six hits in seven innings with two walks and eight strikeouts. Taylor Tankersley earned his second save.

Troy Glaus hit a solo home run; Lyle Overbay had two hits; and Bengie Molina had one hit to raise his hitting streak to a career-high 15 games for the Blue Jays (37-30), who had a three-game winning streak broken.

The loser was Ty Taubenheim (0-4), who again failed to get his first major league victory.

The last time Florida won six straight games was May 18-24, 2005.
