MLB: N.Y. Mets 5, Arizona 0

PHOENIX, June 11 (UPI) -- Rookie Alay Soler hurled a two-hit shutout Saturday night as the New York Mets blanked Arizona, 5-0.

Both David Wright and Jose Reyes had one run, two hits and one RBI; Endy Chavez had one run and two hits; Carlos Beltran had one run, one hit and one RBI; Paul Lo Duca had one run and one hit; while Carlos Delgado hit a sacrifice fly for the Mets (38-23), who rose to 5-1 on their 10-game road trip.

They have won 14 of their last 21 games and have the best record in the National League.

Soler (2-1) walked three and struck out two.

Orlando Hudson and Jeff DaVanon each had one double for the Diamondbacks (34-28), who lost their sixth consecutive game.

Loser Brandon Webb (8-1) gave up four runs and eight hits in eight innings.

This was Webb's first loss of the season.
