MLB: Tampa Bay 10, Toronto 5

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., June 4 (UPI) -- Damon Hollins and Julio Lugo each hit a three-run homer Sunday as Tampa Bay beat the Toronto Blue Jays, 10-5, to avoid a three-game sweep.

Tomas Perez had two runs and one hit; Ty Wigginton hit an RBI double; and Toby Hall, Russell Branyan and Joey Gathright all had one run and one hit for the Devil Rays (23-34), who won for only the second time in their last 10 games.

Tampa Bay improved to 13-13 at home.

Winning pitcher Doug Waechter (1-4) gave up four runs and eight hits in six innings.

Frank Catalanotto hit a two-run homer; Benji Molina had one run, two hits and one RBI; and Shea Hillenbrand had three hits for the Blue Jays (31-24), who missed a chance for a four-game sweep for the fourth straight series.

The loser, Gustavo Chacin (6-2), six runs and five hits in 4 1/3 innings.
