Edmonton, which won the last four games, became the first eight seed to ever reach a conference final since the NHL went to the conference-driven playoff format in 1994.

Michael Peca scored an un-assisted goal; and Roloson made 24 saves for the Oilers, who surprised top-seeded Detroit in six games in the opening round, and will face Anaheim starting Friday night in the Western Conference Finals.

Vesa Toskala allowed two goals on 26 shots faced for San Jose, which downed Nashville in the first round in five games.

Edmonton is returning to the conference finals for the first time since 1992 against Chicago.
