ST. LOUIS, May 9 (UPI) -- Albert Pujols hit a three-run homer in the eighth inning Tuesday to lead the St. Louis Cardinals to a 4-2 victory over the Colorado Rockies.
David Eckstein added two hits and a run scored for the Cardinals, who have won four of their last five games.

Chris Carpenter started for St. Louis and lasted seven innings giving up two runs -- one earned -- on four hits with six walks and six strikeouts.
Matt Holliday was 2-for-4 with a solo home run and Jamey Carroll scored a run for the Rockies, who had a four-game winning streak stopped.
Colorado starter Josh Fogg went seven innings and gave up one run on six hits.
