The injury occurred in Game One of the Rangers' Eastern Conference quarterfinal series against New Jersey.

Jagr left the game in the third period with what the team then described as an upper body injury. He attempted to check Devils' forward Scott Gomez but only grazed him. Jagr regained his balance before skating over to the Rangers' bench where he stayed hunched over until helped him to the locker room.

Jagr missed Game Two of the series, but returned for the third game. He also played Game Four, but was hurt again on a check by New Jersey's Brad Lukowich 53 seconds into the contest.

The Rangers were swept in four games by the Devils.
