MLB: San Francisco 6, N.Y. Mets 2

SAN FRANCISCO, April 25 (UPI) -- San Francisco's Moises Alou popped a three-run homer in the first inning and finished with five RBI as the Giants defeated the visiting New York Mets, 6-2.

Pitcher Matt Cain (1-2) did not allow a hit until the sixth inning, finishing with two runs allowed on five hits through seven innings of work for his first win of the season.

Lance Niekro went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for the Giants, who were coming off a 10-game road trip. Barry Bonds walked three times and scored a run.

For the Mets, Jose Reyes and Paul Lo Duca each hit RBI singles. Xavier Nady and Kazuo Matsui each went 2-for-4. Tom Glavine (2-2) took the loss, giving up six runs on six hits through 6 1/3 innings, while striking out four and walking five.
