MLB: San Diego 7, N.Y. Mets 4

SAN DIEGO, April 24 (UPI) -- Brian Giles hit a fourth-inning grand slam Sunday as San Diego beat the New York Mets, 7-4.

Josh Barfield went 3-for-5, including his second home run of the season and scored three runs; while Vinny Castilla had three hits for the Padres (8-10), who have won three of their last five games.

Winning pitcher Clay Hensley (1-1) gave up four runs and five hits in 5 1/3 innings with three walks and three strikeouts. Trevor Hoffman made his third save.

David Wright was 2-for-4 with an RBI; Endy Chavez knocked in two runs; and Carlos Delgado, who had two hits, saw his three-game homer broken for the Mets (12-6), who have lost four of their last six games.

Loser Victor Zambrano (1-2) surrendered five runs and seven hits in four innings with three walks and one strikeout.
