MLB: Chicago Cubs 6, Florida 3

CHICAGO, April 24 (UPI) -- Jacque Jones hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth Monday to highlight a six-run outburst as the Chicago Cubs beat the Florida Marlins, 6-3.

Matt Murton added a two-run single in the eighth for the Cubs, who rallied from a 3-0 deficit to win their second straight game. Aramis Ramirez had an RBI for Chicago.

Miguel Cabrera had a two-run homer and Josh Willingham drove in a run for the Marlins, whose bullpen blew a solid outing by starting pitcher Justin Vargas.

David Aardsma (1-0) got the win in relief of starter Carlos Zambrano, pitching one inning. Ryan Dempster got his fifth save of the season, extending his franchise-record to 24 straight.

Vargas allowed just one hit in 6 1/3 innings. He retired 11 of the first 13 batters he faced.
