BALTIMORE, April 19 (UPI) -- Ramon Hernandez homered and drove in four runs Wednesday night as Baltimore blasted the Cleveland Indians, 18-9.
The Orioles who had 21 hits a night after the Indians had 20 in a 15-1 victory.
Hernandez had two hits and both he and Jay Gibbons hit three-run homers; Melvin Mora had three hits and scored three runs; and Miguel Tejada had three hits, scored three runs and drove in two for the Orioles (9-7).
Baltimore has won seven of its past 10 games.
In relief of starter Rodrigo Lopez, winner John Halama rose to 1-0.
Jhonny Peralta, Victor Martinez and Aaron Boone all hit home runs; while Ronny Belliard and Todd Hollandsworth both had two hits for the Indians (9-6). Cleveland lost for the fifth time in its last seven games.
Loser Jake Westbrook (2-2) was torched for nine runs and 12 hits in 4 1/3 innings with no walks or strikeouts.
