NHL: Toronto 4, New Jersey 3

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., March 26 (UPI) -- Chad Kilger scored Toronto's first goal and assisted on the second one Sunday night as the Maple Leafs fought off New Jersey, 4-3.

Toronto halted a two-game skid in a bid to keep its playoff hopes alive. The Maple Leafs began the night seven points behind Montreal for the Eastern Conference's final post-season spot.

Matt Stajan gave Toronto a two-goal lead with 8:12 remaining in the third period, but the Blackhawks closed to within one when Patrick Elias scored unassisted on the power play with 3:37 left.

This was the fourth meeting between the teams this year, and Toronto has won them all.
