NHL: Florida 4, Washington 3

WASHINGTON, March 18 (UPI) -- Roberto Luongo stopped 37 of 40 shots and did not allow a goal in the shootout Saturday as the Florida Panthers beat the Washington Capitals, 4-3.

Jon Sim scored his 15th goal of the season for the Panthers, who are 6-0 against Washington this season. Joe Nieuwendyk scored the only goal of the shootout.

Jay Bouwmeester tallied his second goal a night after scoring his first of the season.

Chris Clark recorded his first career hat-trick for the Capitals, who have lost five games in a row. Alexander Ovechkin assisted on two of Clark's goals.

Olaf Kolzig stopped 41 of the 44 shots he faced.
