NHL: N.Y. Islanders 4, Boston 3

BOSTON, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- Alexei Zhitnik and Mark Parrish scored 20 seconds apart midway through the third period Saturday, as the New York Islanders beat the Boston Bruins, 4-3.

Mike York and Trent Hunter each added a goal and two assists for the Islanders, who have won their last two games. New York goalie Rick DiPietro turned aside 41 shots.

Patrice Bergeron had a goal and an assist for the Bruins, who saw a three-game winning streak come to an end. Tim Thomas allowed four goals on 51 shots, and defenseman Brad Stuart had two assists for Boston.

Zhitnik's goal sailed over Thomas' left shoulder to tie the score at 8:49 of the third period. Just 20 seconds later, Parrish followed up Shawn Bates' shot from the slot and backhanded the rebound past Thomas for the 4-3 lead.
