COL BKB: Villanova 80, Syracuse 65

PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 21 (UPI) -- Allan Ray had 22 points, eight rebounds and two assists Saturday as 7th-ranked Villanova beat No. 20 Syracuse, 80-65.

Kyle Lowry, who was a perfect 7-for-7 on free throws, had 11 points, three rebounds and two assists; and Mike Nardi had 10 points, five assists and four rebounds for the Wildcats (13-2, 4-1 Big East), who have won two straight and beat Syracuse for the first time in nearly three years.

Eric Devendorf had 21 points, five rebounds and two assists; Terrence Roberts added 20 points and five rebounds; and Demetris Nichols scored 10 points for the Orange (15-4, 3-2).

Syracuse dropped its second straight conference game.

Villanova out-rebounded Syracuse, 33-30. The Orange turned the ball over 19 times to 12 by the Wildcats.
