ANAHEIM, Calif., Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Washington beat Anaheim 3-2 in overtime Friday night at the Pond thanks to Alexander Ovechkin's hat trick -- the first of his career.

It was the first win for the Capitals in seven games.

Dainius Zubrus and Chris Clark contributed with assists while Brent Johnson blocked 32 shots.

The Mighty Ducks loss was their third of the past four games.

Joffrey Lupul and Travis Moen both scored in the defeat.
