NHL: Colorado 6, St. Louis 1

DENVER, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Rookie forward Marek Svatos picked up his second career hat trick Monday as the Colorado Avalanche routed the St. Louis Blues, 6-1.

Alex Tanguay added a goal and two assists, and goaltender David Aebischer had 27 saves for Colorado, which has now won five straight games.

Andrew Brunette had a goal and an assist in the win.

Simon Gamache scored the lone goal for the Blues, who have lost three in a row and five of their last six games.

Jason Bacashihua turned away 30 of the 36 shots he faced in the loss.
