NHL: Boston 4, Ottawa 2

BOSTON, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Brad Boyes scored the game-winning goal Thursday night as Boston beat the Ottawa Senators, 4-2.

Glen Murray added a goal and an assist; Brad Stuart and Travis Green also had goals; Patrice Bergeron recorded two assists; Brian Leetch, Wayne Primeau, David Tanabe and Alexei Zhamnov all had one assist; starting goalie Hannu Toivonen made 21 saves; and reserve Andrew Raycroft added 12 saves for the Bruins (15-19-6), who have won two of their last three games.

Chris Neil and Mike Fisher both scored goals; Wade Redden and Peter Schaefer added assists; and goaltender Dominik Hasek allowed three goals on the 37 shots he faced for the Senators (27-8-3), who have lost only twice in their last seven games.

The Bruins out-shot Ottawa, 38-35. The Senators were scoreless on four power play opportunities while Boston went 2-for-6.

Toivonen will be re-evaluated after an MRI on his sprained right ankle.
