NFL: New England 31, N.Y. Jets 21

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Dec. 27 (UPI) -- New England's Tom Brady threw a pair of short touchdown passes to Mike Vrabel as the visiting Patriots defeated the New York Jets, 31-21.

Brady ended 18-of-29 passing for 185 yards and one interception to go along with the two scores for the Patriots, who have won four straight and six of their last seven games to improve to 10-5.

Corey Dillon ran for two scores and chipped in 77 yards on the ground and now has 26 touchdowns in 27 games with New England.

Brooks Bollinger finished 11-of-19 passing for 100 yards with a touchdown and a pick while Laveranues Coles caught five passes for 71 yards with two scores for the Jets, who have dropped nine of their last 10 games and are 3-12 going into the season finale. Ty Law also ran an interception back for a TD in the setback.

The Patriots had the ball for 43:21 of the game, and posted 26 first downs, compared to 10 by the Jets.

The game marked the final Monday Night Football game on ABC-TV. The Jets also lost the first Monday Night Game 31-21.
