Columbus' Nash activated from IR

NASHVILLE, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Columbus Blue Jackets forward Rick Nash was activated from injured reserve and was in the lineup for Saturday's game against Nashville.

Nash, who had been sidelined with a knee injury, missed the last 17 games. He has played in only three games this season after missing 11 of Columbus' first 12 contests with an ankle injury he sustained during training camp.

The 21-year-old Nash, who signed a five-year contract with Columbus in early August, shared the "Rocket" Richard Trophy in 2004 with Calgary's Jarome Iginla and Atlanta's Ilya Kovalchuk after the trio finished tied atop the league with 41 goals.

Originally selected by the Blue Jackets with the first overall pick in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Nash has 58 goals and 38 assists in 157 career games.
