NHL: Edmonton 6, Detroit 5 (OT)

EDMONTON, Alberta, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- Jarret Stoll scored 33 seconds into overtime to lift Edmonton to a rousing 6-5 victory over Detroit Thursday night.

Ryan Smyth scored twice and Ales Hemsky recorded a goal and three assists for the Oilers, who scored four times in the third period.

Edmonton won for the third time in its last four games. Ethan Moreau and Marc-Andre Bergeron also scored in the victory.

Jussi Markkanen made 23 saves for Edmonton, which also beat Detroit in overtime Nov. 3.

Steve Yzerman tied the game at 5-5 with a late goal for Detroit. Brendan Shanahan, Pavel Datsyuk, Mikael Samuelsson and Johan Franzen also scored for the Red Wings, who dropped their third straight.
