KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 30 (UPI) -- Josh Brown booted a 49-yard field goal Saturday night to help South Carolina upset No. 25 Tennessee, 16-15.
Freshman Sidney Rice made eight catches for 112 yards and two touchdowns for the Gamecocks (5-3, 3-3 SEC), who ended a 12-game losing streak to the Volunteers. It was South Carolina's first-ever win at Knoxville.
Blake Mitchell was 22-of-36 for 242 yards and two scores as South Carolina raised its winning streak to three.
Arian Foster had 25 attempts for 148 yards and one touchdown for the Volunteers (3-4, 2-4 SEC). UT has three straight losses and next travels to Notre Dame.
In its two-quarterback system, Erik Ainge went 9-of-21 for 65 yards, while Rick Clausen was 5-of-11 for 34 yards and one interception.
Foster replaced senior tailback Gerald Riggs Jr., who is done after suffering a lower leg and ankle injury last week at Alabama.
