BUFFALO, N.Y., Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Daniel Briere and Ales Kotalik scored power play goals Saturday night to help Buffalo beat the New York Rangers, 3-1.
Rory Fitzpatrick had the other goal, Teppo Numminen had two assists, and Ryan Miller stopped 22 shots for the Sabres, who improved to 6-2-0 with their second straight victory.

Michael Nylander scored the lone Rangers' goal and Henrik Lundqvist had 28 saves.
New York fell to 4-3-3 after its third loss in a row.
The Rangers were 0-for-5 on the power play, while Buffalo was 2-for-8 and the Sabres won the shots on goal battle, 31-23.
