Beem on top at Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 22 (UPI) -- Rich Beem shot a 9-under 63 on Saturday to take a one-stroke lead late in the third round of the FUNAI Classic at Orlando, Fla.

Beem, the 2002 PGA winner, stands at 19-under-par 197 after 54 holes.

The event again was plagued by inclement weather, forcing the suspension of play with 25 players still on the course. The third round will resume early Sunday morning -- and there is a question whether the event will be called after 54 holes because of the potential threat of Hurricane Wilma.

The biggest news of the day was that the world's top two players -- Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh -- both missed the cut when the second round resumed Saturday morning.

Also on the leader-board are Mark Wilson (63) and Mark Calcavecchia (65), who are tied for second place at 18-under-par 198.
