NHL: Colorado 7, Edmonton 1

EDMONTON, Alberta, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Both John-Michael Liles and Milan Hejduk scored two goals Friday night as Colorado buried the Edmonton Oilers, 7-1.

Pierre Turgeon and Rob Blake each added two assists and David Aebischer needed to make only 21 saves as the Avalanche rose to 3-3-1, ending a three-game skid.

Ethan Moreau had the only tally and goaltenders Jussi Markkanen and Ty Conklin combined to make 25 saves for the Oilers, who fell to 3-5-1.

Colorado was 3-for-8 on the power play while holding Edmonton to 1-for-6. In shots on goal, the Avalanche were 32-22 over the losers.
