NEW YORK, Oct. 2 (UPI) -- Clint Barmes had three hits, including a home run, and knocked in three runs Sunday, pacing the Colorado Rockies to an 11-3 victory over the New York Mets.
Even with the victory, the Rockies wound up tied with Pittsburgh for the worst record in the National League at 67-95. The Mets finished 83-79 and third in the NL East.
Todd Helton also had a home run and Luis Gonzalez had three hits and two RBI for the Rockies. Barmes' home run was a solo shot in the first inning off Victor Zambrano, 7-12.
Aaron Cook went the distance for Colorado to improve to 7-2. He gave up three runs -- home runs by Mike Jacobs, Victor Diaz and Cliff Floyd -- on 10 hits.
New York catcher Mike Piazza went 0-for-3 in what is expected to be his final game with the Mets. Fans gave him a standing ovation after the Mets showed a highlight video of the catcher's career.
