MLB: Colorado 4, San Diego 2

DENVER, Sept. 22 (UPI) -- Todd Helton hit his 18th home run Thursday afternoon to help the Colorado Rockies beat San Diego, 4-2.

Helton extended his hitting streak to 10 games, and Luis Gonzalez and Garrett Atkins each had two hits for the Rockies, who have won six of nine.

Winning pitcher Aaron Cook rose to 6-1, holding the Padres to two runs on 10 hits over eight innings. Cook did not walk a batter and fanned one. He registered his sixth straight victory, which is the longest in club history.

Brian Fuentes recorded his 30th save.

Joe Randa, Brian Giles and Ramon Hernandez combined for seven of San Diego's 11 hits and Khalil Greene hit a two-run double in a ninth-inning rally that fell short.

Loser Adam Eaton fell to 10-5.

Colorado's Matt Holliday had his 10-game hitting streak snapped.
