SEATTLE, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Jason Giambi hit two home runs, including a three-run blast for the go-ahead runs that helped the New York Yankees to a 7-4 victory over the Seattle Mariners.

Alex Rodriguez hit his American League-leading 39th home run of the season, while Matt Lawton added his first home run as a Yankee.

Aaron Small, 5-0, tossed four scoreless innings of relief to pick up the win, while Mariano Rivera worked the ninth inning to earn his 34th save.

For the Mariners, Ichiro Suzuki hit a solo home run, while Richie Sexson drove in a run.

Seattle starter Ryan Franklin allowed four runs on four hits in 5 1/3 frames. He struck out four with four walks.
