MLB: Texas 3, Cleveland 0

CLEVELAND, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- Michael Young and Phil Nevin homered Wednesday night as Texas beat the Cleveland Indians, 3-0.

With the win, Rangers snapped their season-high eight-game losing streak.

Winning pitcher Chris Young improved to 10-7. He gave up only two hits over eight scoreless innings with one walk and seven strikeouts. Francisco Cordero recorded his 27th save. Michael Young and Phil Nevin homered for the Rangers, who improved to 1-8 on a 13-game road trip.

Coco Crisp and Travis Hafner had the lone hits for Cleveland, which has lost 4 of 5.

Loser Kevin Millwood fell to 6-10.

Texas' second baseman Alfonso Soriano went 0-for-4 and had his 15-game hitting streak broken.
