SOPOT, Poland, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- Top-seeded French Open runner-up Mariano Puerta of Argentina was a first-round loser to Finland's Jarkko Nieminen Tuesday at the Idea Prokom Open.
Nieminen defeated Puerta 6-4, 7-6 (7-1).

Third-seeded Argentine Guillermo Coria and fourth-seeded Spaniard Carlos Moya were winners Tuesday.
Coria, who won in Umag last week, beat former world No. 1 and three-time French Open champion Gustavo Kuerten 6-3, 4-0, as Kuerten retired with a neck injury.
Moya came from behind to beat Polish qualifier Mariusz Fyrstenberg 6-7 (5-7), 6-3, 7-5.
