MLB: Florida 4, San Francisco 1

SAN FRANCISCO, July 24 (UPI) -- Juan Encarnacion hit a two-run homer and Miguel Cabrera had two hits Sunday as Florida beat San Francisco, 4-1.

One of Cabrera's hits was a solo home run as the Marlins won their fourth in five.

Winner A.J. Burnett (7-6), who might have pitched his last game for the Marlins, yielded one run and six hits in 7 1/3 innings. Burnett, who is on the trading block, walked one and fanned four.

Todd Jones worked the ninth for his 16th save.

Losing pitcher Kevin Correia (1-2) surrendered four runs and five hits in 6 1/3 innings with two walks and five strikeouts.

Edgardo Alfonzo drove in the lone run for the Giants, who have dropped three of four.

Florida's Juan Pierre stole his 31st base of the season and Marlins first baseman Carlos Delgado was 1-for-4 to extend his hitting streak to 11 games.
