The Reds had set a club record by going 93 games into a season without a complete game.

Felipe Lopez, Adam Dunn and Javier Valentin each added solo homer for Cincinnati, which snapped a two-game skid.

Griffey and Dunn each had two hits.

Triple Crown candidate Derrek Lee, who is making a bid for National League MVP, hit his major-league leading 31st home run and Jeromy Burnitz also hit a solo blast for the Cubs, who had a brief three-game winning streak snapped.

Losing pitcher Kerry Wood (3-3) left the game after three innings because of stiffness in his right shoulder.
