MIAMI, July 8 (UPI) -- Jeromy Burnitz hit a two-run homer Friday night to help the Chicago Cubs down Florida, 9-6.
Burnitz went 3-for-5 with three RBI and Jerry Hairston added two RBI for the Cubs, who snapped their season-long eight-game losing streak.

Winning pitcher Carlos Zambrano (6-4) yielded three runs and six hits over seven innings with six walks and seven strikeouts.
Losing pitcher Dontrelle Willis dropped to 13-4. He was tagged for eight runs and nine hits over 4 1/3 innings with three walks and three strikeouts.
Mike Lowell hit a three-run homer and Miguel Cabrera added a solo shot for the Marlins, who had their two-game winning streak snapped.
