MLB: Detroit 8, Minnesota 1

MINNEAPOLIS, June 23 (UPI) -- Omar Infante homered and had three RBI Wednesday night to lead the Detroit Tigers over the Minnesota Twins, 8-1.

Winning pitcher Nate Robertson threw a complete game to improve to 3-5 for the Tigers. He yielded five hits and the one run with one walk and six strikeouts.

Detroit now has won four straight games. It has won eight of its last 10 games overall.

Craig Monroe scored twice and drove in a run, and Placido Polanco and Brandon Inge each scored with one RBI for the Tigers.

The Twins have lost four straight and are 2-6 on a nine-game homestand. Minnesota's losing streak is the longest since it lost four in a row from Aug. 8-11 last year. Loser Joe Mays fell to 3-3.
