MLB: Chicago White Sox 5, Kansas City 1

CHICAGO, June 22 (UPI) -- Paul Konerko had three hits and Carl Everett smacked a three-run homer Wednesday as the Chicago White Sox beat the Kansas City Royals, 5-1.

The victory completed a three-game sweep for the White Sox, who have won seven straight overall and continued their season-long domination of Kansas City. Chicago now is 9-0 against the Royals this season.

Left-hander Mark Buehrle raised his record to 9-1. Buehle, who has not lost since his second start of the season at Minnesota, gave up one run and five hits with a walk and six strikeouts in eight innings.

Loser J.P. Howell dropped to 1-2. Ruben Gotay drove in the lone run for the Royals with an eighth-inning ground out.

Mark Teahen had two of Kansas City's five hits. The Royals have lost five of their last six.
