Ochoa assumes lead at Pittsford

PITTSFORD, N.Y., June 17 (UPI) -- Lorena Ochoa grabbed a two-shot edge Friday after 36 holes at the Wegmans Rochester LPGA event in Pittsford, N.Y.

In the second round, Ochoa, who is seeking her third win of the year, carded a three-under 69 after opening her round with a bogey. She stands at eight-under-par 136 overall.

Maria Hjorth and first round leader Becky Morgan, who struggled to a two-over 74 on Friday, are tied for second at six-under-par 138. Hjorth made bogey at 16, birdie at 17, and a closing par at 18 in an up-and down round.

Paula Creamer is alone in fourth. Mi Hyun Kim, who shared second place here last year, is fifth.
