MLB: L.A. Angels 11 Washington 1

ANAHEIM, Calif., June 14 (UPI) -- The L.A. Angels trounced the Washington Nationals 11-1 on the back of Vladimir Guerrero, who hit a three-run homer and drove in five runs in inter-league play.

Angels starter Paul Byrd (6-5) earned the win after tossing six innings of one-run ball. He scattered four hits, while fanning three with one walk.

Washington starter Esteban Loaiza (2-5) took a beating, allowing five runs in three innings. He permitted nine hits with one walk, while fanning three for the Nationals.

Dallas McPherson and Juan Rivera each belted solo homers for the Angels and Darin Erstad finished 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored in the win, as the Angels cranked out a season-best 20 hits.
