DETROIT, June 2 (UPI) -- Craig Monroe hit a run-scoring single in the bottom of the 10th inning Thursday to lift the Detroit Tigers past the Texas Rangers, 6-5.
Reliever Ugueth Urbina (1-3) picked up his first win of the season after pitching a scoreless top of the 10th inning. Loser Nick Regilio dropped to 1-2.

Detroit left-fielder Rondell White drove in three runs and extended his hitting streak to 18 games. He hit a home run in the second inning.
Mark Teixeira had three hits and two RBI for the Rangers, who out-hit Detroit, 12-10.
The Rangers have lost two straight on the heels of a nine-game winning streak.
