LOS ANGELES, May 21 (UPI) -- The Los Angeles Angels got a 9-0 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Friday evening opener of a three-game interleague series.

Jarrod Washburn (3-2) pitched seven innings for the win, giving up just five hits and a walk with one strikeout.

Adam Kennedy had two hits and two runs scored for the Angels,

Juan Rivera hit a grand slam after taking over for an injured Vladimir Guerrero and Chone Figgins who had a three-run triple.

The Angels scored five runs against Kelly Wunsch and Yhency Brazoban in the ninth inning to put the game out of reach.

Erickson (1-4) took the loss in just 1 2/3 innings, falling to 0-4 in his last six starts.
