SAN FRANCISCO, April 27 (UPI) -- San Francisco broke up a tie game with a single by J.T. Snow in the eighth inning and beat the San Diego Padres 6-5 Tuesday.
Snow got his hit with two outs, scoring Jason Ellison, who had singled.

Phil Nevin had tied the game for San Diego with a two-run home run in the top of the eighth. Mark Sweeney and Ramon Hernandez also hit homers for the Padres.
Armando Benitez (1-1) was the winner in relief.
