NBA: Charlotte 105, Atlanta 84

CHARLOTTE, N.C., April 13 (UPI) -- Emeka Okafor scored 17 points Wednesday night and Melvin Ely had 16 as Charlotte defeated Atlanta, 105-84.

The teams with the two worst records in the NBA completed a home-and-home series with the Bobcats winning them both.

Atlanta has won just three of 39 road games this season and lost 32 of 35 overall. Josh Smith led the Hawks with 20 points.

The Hawks have a mere 12 victories, five fewer than Charlotte, and thus have clinched the worst record in the league.

Charlotte took a quick 21-8 lead and the Hawks never recovered. The Bobcats owned a 25-point advantage at halftime.
