Boller earns weekly NFL Player honor

NEW YORK, Dec. 16 (UPI) -- Baltimore quarterback Kyle Boller Wednesday was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week by the NFL.

Boller had the best game of his two-year pro career Sunday in the Ravens' 37-14 rout of the New York Giants. He was 18-of-34 for 219 yards with four touchdown passes and no interceptions.

Boller was joined in the AFC by San Diego linebacker Donnie Edwards (defense) and Pittsburgh punter Chris Gardocki (special teams).

Edwards had two interceptions and 16 tackles in the Chargers' 31-24 victory over Tampa Bay, and Gardocki averaged 42.4 yards on six punts in the Steelers' 16-6 win over the New York Jets.

Their NFC counterparts were Seattle wide receiver Darrell Jackson (offense), Carolina linebacker Dan Morgan (defense) and New Orleans punter Mitch Berger (special teams).

Jackson, playing despite the death of his father, had 10 receptions for 135 yards and one touchdown in the Seahawks' 27-23 win over Minnesota.
