NBA: Seattle 102, San Antonio 96

SAN ANTONIO, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Ray Allen helped Seattle pull off another major victory Wednesday night as the SuperSonics ended San Antonio's eight-game winning streak, 102-96.

The surprising Sonics won their third straight and their seventh out of eight.

Allen had 29 points while Rashard Lewis added 16.

The Spurs fell despite a 39-point performance from Tim Duncan. He also claimed 10 rebounds and blocked four shots.

San Antonio lost at home for the first time this season.

Seattle took control of the game by outscoring the Spurs by 17 in the second period. Although the Spurs closed within two during the second half, they were able to hit only 41 percent of their shots from the floor.

It was the second time Seattle has beaten San Antonio this season.
