NBA: Minnesota 115, Memphis 90

MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- Kevin Garnett helped Minnesota end a two-game skid Friday night by scoring 26 points as the Timberwolves defeated Memphis, 115-90.

Garnett hit 11 of 15 shots from the field and Latrell Sprewell chipped in 22 points.

Memphis played its first game since learning that Coach Hubie Brown was retiring due to health reasons. Lionel Hollins, Brown's top assistant, is coaching the team on an interim basis.

Mike Miller led Memphis with 19 points and Pau Gasol had 17 in his first game back from a sprained ankle. Gasol had missed three contests.

Minnesota played its second game without center Michael Olowokandi, who was suspended following his arrest at an Indianapolis nightclub.
